Born on December 25, 1952 in Pulgaon, District Wardha, has completed MBBS training in 1977 from Government Medical College, and affiliated to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad. Continuing in the same college, he pursued Diploma in Clinical pathology in 1981 and subsequently M. D. in Pathology in 1983. Soon after, in 1985 he joined Grant Medical College and Sir J. J. Hospital, Mumbai as Associate Professor. With dedication and zeal, he ascended to the prestigious post of Professor of Pathology.
The teaching experience of Dr. Lanjewar extends over 35 years. In addition to educating young minds he continued to organize, the enlightening National Autopsy Workshop at the Grant Medical College which is a standout work shop in the field of postmortem pathology. He is recognized as one of the pioneers in the challenging area of AIDS pathology with over 30 publications on the topic. His contribution to the field of pathology are manifold, with over 50 papers published in National and International Journals.
In addition, he was the Administrator of Maharashtra Medical Council from 2006 to 2001, President of Indian Association of Pathologists and Microbiologists (IAPM) for the year 2009, former honorary secretary of IAPM and currently he is Honorary Vice-Dean of Indian College of Pathologists.
